Documents to bring
- Identification documents for registration (NRIC, passport, driving license etc.)
- Past medical records (if any)
Attire
- Preferably, wear comfortable short sleeved/sleeveless clothing to ensure a smooth venepuncture and blood pressure measurement
Fasting
- As the tests done are fasting tests, please fast for at least 8 hours before your scheduled appointment.
- No food or beverages (including tea/coffee) are allowed during the fast. Sips of plain water are allowed.
Medication and Supplements
- Please do not consume your routine medications/supplements until after the tests are completed. You may consume them after the health screening is completed.

Stool sampling for Fecal Occult Blood Test
- Stool sample bottles may be collected from the clinic before or during your health screening.
- You may collect your stool sample a day before your health screening if you are collecting the sample prior. Alternatively, the sample can be submitted at a later date.
- The sample can be collected by securing a piece of plastic/newspaper/toilet paper under the toilet seat before sitting down to pass stool.
- Do not allow urine to contaminate the sample.
- Using the scoop attached to the bottle cap, transfer 1 scoop of stool into the specimen bottle.
- Screw the cap on tightly and place the bottle in the ziploc bag provided.
- Your stool sample should not be kept for more than 12 hours before submission. Store it at room temperature.
- Avoid red meat and iron supplementation for 3 days before the sample is collected.
- For women, the stool test should be done at least 7 days before or after your menses.
Urine sample
- Urine sample bottles may be collected from the clinic before or during your health screening.
- You may collect your urine sample on the morning of the health screening or at our clinic.
- Wash your hands and wipe the genital area with tissue before collection.
- Hold the uncapped urine bottle with one hand and take care not to touch the inner surface of the bottle.
- Collect the mid-steam sample of urine (after 2-3 seconds of urinating) and fill the bottle until it is around half full.
- Screw the cap on tightly and place the bottle in the ziploc bag provided.
- For women, the urine test should be done at least 7 days before or after your menses.
Pap smear/HPV DNA test
- For women, the pap smear/HPV DNA test should be done at least 7 days before or after your menses, to ensure accuracy of results.
Mammogram
- Schedule your mammogram to be at least 7 days after the last day of your menses.
- Do not apply any cream, deodorant, perfume or powder at your underarms or chest area as it might affect the quality of the mammogram.
- Do not undergo this examination if pregnant as it involves exposure to X-rays.
Ultrasound Abdomen and Pelvis
- Please fast for at least 8 hours if you are undergoing an abdominal ultrasound.
- You will be required to drink around 4-5 glasses of water before the procedures are performed.
- Avoid urinating for around 1 hour if undergoing a pelvic ultrasound.
